Scheming for identity

Tell me what the scheming poet said
As she held someone she shouldn’t
For that may be the mark of identity
If her mark is ‘I love you’
Is that not better than ‘I know’?
What we produce we must give away
Our mouths produce our marks
And to whom we give them
Is part of the ID card
Name, height, eye color
What we say, to whom we said it, why
That is the self-defining process
What we keep are the identities of others
The law of averages will tell us the truth.
