Things they tell women – Don’t get raped.

There’s no such thing,
As just being friendly.
Don’t make eye contact.
Don’t smile.
Don’t say hello.
Don’t be pleasant.
Because,
If you look at him,
If you smile,
If you talk,
If you pay him,
Even the slightest attention,
You’re going to get yourself raped.
And you’ll deserve it.

  1. This poem tells an ugly truth. I’ve heard it said before that you should teach people not to rape, not how to avoid to being raped. Sad that a victim is blamed for a crime.

    1. Well, I for one am pretty sick and tired of it all. Even now, women are told to look over their shoulders; and not to walk alone after dark or anywhere for that matter; or visit certain places, and basically edit all of their behaviors so they won’t “get raped.” We shouldn’t have to do any of that. We also shouldn’t have to assume that all men are dangerous sexual predators.
